Isabelle Vandoorne has been a civil servant at the European Commission since 2001. She is Deputy Head of the Sustainable and Intelligent Transport unit at DG MOVE. Her focus is on mobility digitalisation and smart-and-sustainable urban mobility.
Previously, she worked in the areas of intelligent transport systems, railways and telecoms, and with digitalisation projects in the field of EU taxation. Before that, she worked for the Belgian Railways SNCB-NMBS.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical/Telecom Engineering from the Faculté Polytechnique de Monsin Belgium, where she also worked as a researcher.
